Fulham v Manchester City Match Preview & Trends

Fulham’s daunting fixture list looks a bit brighter after their upset victory at Anfield and will no doubt boost confidence as they prepare to host Manchester City. Scott Parker’s men thoroughly deserved the three points against Liverpool and will have sustained belief from that result that they can do well against the runaway league leaders. The Cityzens bounced back from their derby defeat to Manchester United in midweek by emphatically dispatching Southampton 5-2 at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola continues to rotate his multi-million pound squad with ease and scarcely any drop in performance no matter who plays. They are once again 14 points clear of their Manchester rivals and now require just another 6 victories to clinch the Premier League Title. The Cottagers will not need telling that time is running out to muster enough points to avoid relegation. Fulham rest uneasily in 18th place on 26 points, level with Brighton & Hove Albion who are just outside of the drop zone with 10 matches to play. Manchester City won the last Premier League meeting between the teams 2-0 at Etihad Stadium in December. Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for City in the fifth minute before Kevin De Bruyne rounded off the victory. In their last six league matches, Fulham have won three, drawn two and lost one. Manchester City, have won five and lost one in their last six.
