Manchester United v Brighton and Hove Albion Match Preview & Trends

Bruno to score AFTER full-time again?

Brighton make the long journey north to Manchester on Sunday in the evening kick-off at Old Trafford. Graham Potter and his side will no doubt still be scorned from their controversial defeat in the opposing fixture earlier in the season. Who can forget the last-minute equalizer from the Seagulls which appeared to have rescued a point when the referee blew the final whistle. VAR came in and awarded a United penalty from the phase of play before the final whistle so play resumed and Bruno Fernandes held his nerve to slot home what was eventually the winning goal.

Brighton had dominated the fixture with excellent Trossard terrorizing the United defense. Potter will have noted Trossards scoring touch when he netted twice for Belgium in the week and hope he can once again be a thorn in Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s side.

There have been at least three goals in the last 6 games between Man Utd and Brighton and at least 2 goals were scored in the last 5 games Man Utd has won against the Seagulls. United have won the last 5 games against Brighton and are undefeated in their last 9 matches. At least one first-half goal has been scored in Brighton last 5 games

A United would increase their lead over Brighton to 28 points in the league table, and it would be Manchester Utd’s 10th consecutive match without defeat. The Red Devils have not conceded in their last 4 games and will be confident of another clean sheet after Skipper Harry Maguire hit form and inspired England with a goal in the recent World Cup Qualifiers.
