Arsenal v Chelsea Match Predictions & Trends

Arteta under pressure already

After last week’s disastrous start to the season, Mikel Arteta is under pressure to turn things around already. Losing convincingly to newly-promoted Brentford will concern the Arsenal supporters despite the arrivals of Martin Odegaard and Arron Ramsdale to boost the squad this week. It is likely those two signings were planned anyway rather than as a reaction to the defeat but either way the Gunners need a lift.

Thomas Tuchel does not have similar issues, he is in the fortunate position of having started the season well and adding a world-class striker to the mix with Romelu Lukaku set to make his second Chelsea debut after rejoining from Inter Milan.

Arsenal have got the better of Chelsea of late, unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches (W2 D1 L0). The Blues are looking for their first league win over Arsenal since December 2019. The Gunners have outscored the Blues 6-3 during their period.

At home last season, Arsenal had eight wins, four draws, and seven losses in 19 Premier League contests. Chelsea, in comparison, had 10 wins, four draws, and five losses in their 19 league games on the road.
