Sweden v Ukraine Match Preview & Trends

Can Sweden maintain superb start to the tournament against stubborn Ukraine?

Glasgow is the setting for this last 16 clash between Sweden and Ukraine. After impressing in the group stages, confidence in the Swedish camp is high. With the winners of this tie set to face the victor of the England vs Germany match in the quarter-finals in Rome, it should be a fascinating contest between two quality footballing sides.

Qualifying ahead of Spain was a huge achievement for the Swedes and they can now enjoy the extra expectation on them that their performances have warranted up to now. Andrei Shevchenko has negotiated a way to the knockout phase for his Ukrainian side and will now need to draw on all his experience to guide them further. Some impressive displays from both of these sides so far have surprised a few pundits but there is quality in both squads and they deserve their respective places in the last 16.

Sweden covered 332.1km in the group stages and have maintained a passing accuracy of 67% and averaging 36% possession.
