The NBA announced yesterday in an official statement that they have created a new partnership with Hill. The partnership comes with full authorization for William Hill to provide a legal betting service across the whole of the NBA roster, where states permit.
Official data integration
William Hill will be given access to official NBA data, meaning there is a high likelihood that key game and player stats will soon be appearing right within the William Hill mobile apps. This has certainly given William Hill a big edge over its rivals when it comes to basketball betting in the United States.
Nice add on to NHL Partnership
William Hill already have made significant headway in the US market with already landing an official partnership with the NHL, as well as with team Vegas Golden Knights and the Jersey Devils.
Senior Vice President of Fantasy and Gaming for the NBA, Scott Kaufman-Ross stated
“We are delighted to partner with William Hill as they grow their business throughout the U.S. and are excited to work together to provide a world-class experience to our fans.”
From a William Hill perspective, Vice president of strategy and business development for William Hill US, Dan Shapiro was recorded saying
“We are proud of this creative partnership that benefits our customers and our partners nationwide while promoting legalized wagering on NBA events. The NBA has been a leader in recognizing the benefits of a legal sports betting market.”
William Hill to appear on NBA apps
The deal will mean that the William Hill brand will now be present across the NBA’s digital products, including their official website, apps and social media accounts. This will provide William Hill with a huge amount of recognition in a short space of time.
William Hill are being very bold and brazen in their bid to break in to the American gambling market and this should kick other major mobile betting operators to up their game. Tying up early partnerships seems to be the way to go to achieve a well-known brand name.
What now in terms of an official NFL sportsbook partner?
One area that is still up for grabs is an official NFL sports betting partner. With this announcement from the NBA, Mobile betting operators must be foaming at the mouth in trying to land a deal with the biggest American football league in the world. We wouldn’t be surprised at all if William Hill were already in advanced negotiations (along with many others)
The NFL has an official fantasy partner (Draftkings), casino partner (Caesars) and sports betting data partner (Sportradar), but no official sportsbook partner as of this moment. There’s a lot of money that changes hands in these kind of partnership deals so we don’t expect that to stay the case for too much longer!
